The NCFE CACHE Level 4 Certificate for the Early Years Advanced Practitioner is designed to provide continuing professional development opportunities for practitioners working within the early years workforce at Level 3. This qualification recognises the wealth of experience within the sector and challenges learners to further develop both their practical skills and theoretical understanding. Upon successful completion, learners will be equipped to operate as advanced practitioners, demonstrating enhanced professional competence. They will also develop key leadership skills, enabling them to effectively support, guide, and mentor colleagues across a range of roles and responsibilities within the early years workforce.

Introducing the qualification
The NCFE CACHE Level 4 Certificate for the Early Years Advanced Practitioner aims to provide professional development opportunities for practitioners working in the early years workforce at Level 3. This qualification will embrace the wealth of experience of the Level 3 early years workforce, and challenge learners in both their daily practice and theoretical understanding.

Upon achievement of the qualification, learners will be equipped as an advanced practitioner. The advanced practitioner will use crucial leadership skills to mentor others across all roles and responsibilities in the early years workforce.

The qualification covers a range of early years topics at Level 4, including enabling children to learn, working with families and other professionals and implementing change, as well as specialist areas such as physical activity and nutrition and special educational needs.

Learners will acquire and use skills of leadership, mentoring, coaching and reflection as they complete the qualification through work-based learning opportunities.

Duration
There will be an expectation for learners to achieve ‘The Certificate for the Early Years Advanced Practitioner’ within 12 months.

Assessment
This qualification will be internally assessed using a work-based portfolio of evidencearranged to reflect application of theoretical knowledge in practice with clear expectations of engagment with stautory frameworks.

Entry requirements
Learners must be 18+ and hold a full Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification.

Qualification structure
To be awarded the NCFE CACHE lLevel 4 Certificate for the Early Years Advanced Practitioner, the learner will need to complete 5 mandatory units.

Delivery methods
A coach will be assigned to support the learner through the qualification. There will be online workshop sessions once a month and tutorials to support the learner to develop the knowledge and understanding to build the portfolio of evidence.
