A short introductory session for anyone new to graphic design. Ideal if you'd like to try it before enrolling on a longer course.

What qualification is this course?
This course is for anyone with an interest in learning to use Canva.
In line with Essex County Council (ECC) and ACL's security and identity management guidelines, all learners must set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) on their account to access and undertake the Canva course. Learners will be unable to access Canva or participate in course activities until MFA has been successfully enabled, with guidance and support provided as part of the course onboarding process.

This course is suitable for all. No experience necessary.
What can I expect to learn?
Whether you’re creating content for personal projects or promoting a business, this beginners Canva course will show you how to design with confidences. Discover how to design eye catching content for social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, alongside flyers, posters, and other promotional materials. You’ll explore ready-made templates and gain confidence using fonts, colours, images, and layout techniques to create clear, attractive visuals that promote your services, events, or campaigns effectively. Ideal for personal, community, and business use.
How will I learn?
The session will be interactive with video and audio for tutor presentation and demonstration. The tutor will guide you through the session to ensure that you achieve the course outcomes
How will I know how well I am doing?
Tutor will give feedback as appropriate in the session to help you gauge your progress.
Do I need to do any work at home?
As a short taster or introduction to a specific digital skill, there is no requirement for additional homework, however information and understanding gained can be applied in everyday life.
What do I need to provide?
It is good practice to bring a pen and notebook to make notes.
You may bring any personal devices (phones / tablets / laptops) you wish to complete your work.
