For those who need to gain confidence and improve their English skills to get ready for enrolling onto a GCSE English language course in October 2025.
What can I expect to learn?
The 'Get Ready for GCSE English' course will help you to brush up your spelling, grammar and punctuation skills. The course will be delivered by an experienced GCSE English tutor who will offer advice and guidance on what you might expect to learn on a GCSE English course.
You will have the opportunity to improve your skills in the following areas:
Spoken language - improving communication skills.
Reading - understanding and anlaysing texts.
Writing - writing clearly and effectively for different purposes.
How will I learn?
This is an online live course. This means you will attend one session per week on our Teams learning area with your tutor and other learners. You are expected to have a suitable digital device to fully participate in this course. You must have a camera on your device so you can fully participate in all online activities.
How will I know how well I am doing?
You will receive regular verbal feedback from your tutor.
Will I have to do any work at home ?
It is entirely up to you if you wish to improve your skills by completing additional activities at home. Your tutor can advise what sites and platforms to access for additional exercises.

You need to have a digital device with a keyboard or laptop.
