Description

This intermediate course is designed for parents, carers, and professionals who already have a basic understanding of Makaton and want to build confidence and fluency. You will learn a wider range of signs and symbols from the Makaton Core Vocabulary and develop strategies for using Makaton in everyday situations. The course also explores how to adapt signing to support people with different communication needs. Basic knowledge of Makaton or completion of a beginners course is recommended.

This course is for personal development and does not lead to a qualification

Who is the course for?
For anyone who already has some undertstanding of Makaton . Learn even more everyday signs and find out how Makaton can support people with communication difficulties.

What can I expect to learn?
By the end of the class you will be able to recall a number of signs on the chosen topic and use these to communicate effectively in a simple sentence. You will also learn how to use Makaton to support people with communication difficulties

How will I learn?
This is a two hours session. The session will be interactive and tutor will guide you through the session to ensure that you achieve the course outcomes.

How will I know how well I am doing?
There might be a self-assessment / quiz or other activity iincluded within the course for you to gauge your achievement.
