Join us for a four week, supportive journey that will help learners build confidence with everyday digital tools while uncovering stories from their family's past. Through simple, guided activities, participants build practical abilities such as safe online searching, navigating digital archives, and organising information in clear, accessible ways. By the end, learners gain a stronger digital toolkit and a deeper sense of connection - to their heritage, to others, and to their own growing confidence.

Who is the course for?
This course is for anyone with an interest in tracing their family tree and wanting to build the digital skills to do it with confidence.
What can I expect to learn?
You will learn how to search safely online, explore digital family history tools, use online archives, and organise your findings in clear, easy to manage ways.
How will I learn?
The classroom based learning will be a mixture of demonstrations, discussions and lots of hands on practice using the devices in our IT suites. There will an experienced tutor to help and guide you at all times.
How will I know how well I am doing?
Your tutor will give feedback as appropriate throughout the course to help you gauge your progress. Feedback may be verbal or written. You will record your progress on an individual learning plan.
Will I have to do any work at home ?
No homework will be set but it is highly recommended that all new skills are put into practice outside of the class.
What will I need to provide?
You will need a notepad and pen for making notes.
