Description
This supportive course explores how digital tools can make everyday learning and tasks easier and less overwhelming. Learners are introduced to built-in accessibility features that help with reading, writing, focus, organisation and communication, using familiar Microsoft tools. The course focuses on personalising technology so it works for your individual needs and preferences.
Who is the course for?
Adults aged 19+ who are neurodiverse, have additional learning needs, or find digital tasks challenging or tiring. The course is also suitable for learners who want to explore accessibility tools to support confidence, independence, and wellbeing when using technology
What can I expect to learn?
You’ll explore tools that can read text aloud, help you write using dictation, reduce distractions, and organise tasks more clearly. You’ll practise using features within everyday apps like Word, Teams, Edge and OneNote, and build a personalised set of tools that support the way you learn and work best.
How will I learn?
The sessions will be interactive with video and audio for tutor presentation and demonstration.The tutor will guide you through the sessions to ensure that you achieve the course outcomes.
How will I know how well I am doing?
Your tutor will give feedback as appropriate throughout the course to help you gauge your progress. Feedback may be verbal or written. You will record your progress on an individual learning plan.
Will I have to do any work at home ?
No homework will be set but it is highly recommended that all new skills are put into practice outside of the class.
What will I need to provide?
It would be helpful to bring a notepad and pen for making notes.

After completing this course, learners may progress to IT Digital Basics for the Modern Workplace, using accessibility tools to build confidence in everyday work-based digital tasks. Learners may also move into IT Workplace Productivity & Collaboration Tools or IT Digital Communication for the Workplace, applying personalised accessibility settings to support communication and organisation. With improved confidence, learners can progress to any other IT or employability course with appropriate personalised support in place.
