What can I expect to learn?
This comprehensive course offers a broad selection of modules designed to support learners in developing essential skills for the adult health and social care sector. The programme begins with a focus on workplace English, enabling learners to enhance their communication skills in a care setting. Key areas include:
- Understanding and using care-specific terminology
- Accurately completing service user records
- Interpreting critical documents such as medication notes
Following this foundation, learners will engage in a series of online enrichment modules:
- Health and Safety
- Cybersecurity
- Professional Behaviours
Upon successful completion of the enrichment modules, learners may choose one Level 2 qualification pathway from the following options:
- Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism
- Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Dementia Care
- Level 2 Certificate in the Safe Handling of Medication in Health and Social Care
- Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health Awareness
How will I learn?
This is an online course where your tutors will use a range of resources and visual aids to suit all learning styles. You will be required to work during the session, with the help and guidance from the tutor, and independently at home, to complete tasks set.
How will I know how well I am doing?
Your tutors will provide feedback throughout your course and after the completion of tasks set. You will be required to take assessments to determine your progress and to show knowledge and skills gained.
Will I have to do any work at home?
Yes. Homework will be set for completion before the next session.
What will I need to provide?
Online - You will need a notepad and pen for making notes. You will need to attend online class sessions and so use of a device for this, ideally a laptop/desktop computer.
As a learner with us, you will have access to the online version of Office 365. Please note that the online version may have features that differ from desktop versions you have previously used.
